The typical path leading to AAS

Hey there, I’m Jenn, and I wanted to take a moment to talk about what typically happens before someone reaches out to me. Usually, there’s a breaking point—something painful, terrifying, or overwhelming, like a DUI, a serious argument, or an incident that impacts their children—something that finally pushes them past what was previously tolerated. Many people I work with come in because of an ultimatum from their spouse, but often, their partner has struggled with denial for a long time, fearing what might happen if their loved one went to treatment or how they would manage the household alone. By the time action is taken, so much damage has been done that early recovery becomes incredibly difficult, especially when living in a volatile environment where substance use was once the default way to cope. What I love most about what I do is watching someone come in feeling hopeless and desperate, then slowly experiencing the rewards of sobriety—it’s hard work, but I’m here for you every step of the way, and I make myself available daily to help you navigate this journey.
